"I want to engage the viewer in a way that makes it hard for them to look away from my paintings. By implementing symbolism and illustrative metaphor, I aim to convey important messages that are often overlooked, unknown, or disregarded. One of my goals as a hyperrealist is to push the limits of technique, aesthetic, impact, and concept beyond the typical allure of contemporary hyperrealism in art. Going beyond the role of meticulous observer, I place myself in the role of storyteller and social activist.
Realism is an important element in contemporary art, and its constant evolution discounts it as ever becoming a thing of the past. I believe that hyperrealism offers immeasurable avenues of expression, and an artist is just as capable of conveying messages, emotions, and ideas as they would be in other styles of painting.”
